West Central Week 0

The West Central Week 0 in 2018 will be the first time Willmar, MN holds a Week 0 FIRST Robotics Competition event. A week 0 event is comparable to a preseason event and its purpose is to test robot components, train drivers, and test game strategies for regular season competitions.  This event is hosted by Willmar’s Area Robotics team WARPSPEED 4239 as well as 4 other local robotics teams who make up the robot alliance as known as the West Central Hub.

General Information:

When: Saturday February 17, 2018 from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Times are subject to change)
Where: Willmar High School: 2701 30th St NE, Willmar, MN 56201.
Cost: FREE TO THE PUBLIC!!
Food: Concessions will be offered at this event.

Team’s Information:

  • Cost: $150 per team, $125 if game pieces or field elements are brought to event. Must be paid in advance.

  • There is a $5 lunch deal which is common at other events like this offered to teams. More information regarding this will be sent out later in email blasts.   
  • We will be making the team version of the field out of wood, so be aware that measurements may not be 100% true to the actual playing field.
  • Excessive robot to robot contact and aggressive play is not allowed. 
  • Willmar High School’s wood and metal shops will be open for teams to use at this event.

Volunteer’s Information:

We are also looking for adult volunteers to help us put on this event! You must be available all day February 17th for the event as well as the night of February 16th for a short training session. Besides that, why not get a free lunch and t-shirt while watching robots all day!
